LavaBella Terms of Use

These terms are an agreement between you and LavaBella ("we"). They govern your use of the LavaBella app and services. The language is plain on purpose — but this is a real agreement, so please read it.
1. Acceptance
By creating an account or using LavaBella, you accept these terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not accept them, do not use the app.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use LavaBella.
3. Guidance, not medical advice
LavaBella offers guidance and insight about your skin. It is not a medical service. LavaBella does not provide medical diagnoses or prescriptions. Scan scores, coach replies, routines, and treatment information are informational — they are not a substitute for professional care. You could consult a qualified professional for medical concerns. If something about your skin worries you, a clinician is the right place to start.
4. Your account and security
You are responsible for your account. Keep your sign-in credentials private. Activity under your account is your responsibility. If you believe someone else has accessed it, write to [email protected] right away.
5. Acceptable use
Use LavaBella for yourself, lawfully. In particular, do not:
- break the law, or help anyone else break it, through the app;
- probe, bypass, or interfere with our access controls or infrastructure;
- scrape, harvest, or bulk-download content or data from the service;
- upload content you do not have the right to share, including photos of anyone who has not agreed;
- misrepresent who you are or impersonate anyone else;
- resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the app or its output without our written permission.
6. Face scans and your content
You own your photos and everything you write in the app. You grant us the limited license needed to operate the service: to store, process, analyze, and display your content back to you. That is the license's whole purpose — it ends where operating the service ends. What happens to scan photos is described in the Privacy Policy: analyzed by our own pipeline, never sent to third-party AI services, deleted with your account.
7. Product and treatment information
Product listings, ingredient breakdowns, scores, and the treatment library are informational. They are not endorsements, and they are not promises about results. Formulations change; check the label of the product in your hand.
8. Bookings
LavaBella facilitates introductions to independent partner clinics. The clinic — not LavaBella — is responsible for its services, its pricing, and any care you receive. Partner clinics sign a no-upsell agreement before appearing in the app: they agree not to push services beyond what you asked for. If a clinic breaks that agreement, tell us through post-visit feedback and we will act on it.
9. Pricing
LavaBella is currently free of charge. If paid features are introduced, these terms and the app listing will be updated first.
10. Intellectual property
The app — its design, code, models, scores, and content other than yours — belongs to LavaBella and its licensors. We grant you a personal, limited, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app for your own, non-commercial purposes. No other rights are granted.
11. Termination
You can delete your account at any time in the app (Profile → Settings → Delete account). We may suspend or close an account that violates these terms; where reasonable, we will tell you why. When your account is closed, your data is deleted as described in the Privacy Policy.
12. Disclaimers
LavaBella is provided "as is" and "as available." We work to keep the service accurate, available, and safe, but we cannot promise it will always be error-free or uninterrupted. Scan scores are estimates derived from photos; lighting, angle, and camera differences all move the numbers. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, LavaBella is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits or lost data, arising from your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim is capped at the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or one hundred US dollars. Some places do not allow these limits; where that is the case, they apply to the fullest extent the law permits.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. <!-- TODO: confirm governing law with counsel -->
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change is meaningful, we update the date at the top and let you know in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use LavaBella after a change means you accept the updated terms.
